This is a full lesson with a PowerPoint presentation and summary homework based on limits of accuracy. The PPT contains examples, a starter, a pleanary, an exercise to help pupils practise what they have just learnt and a range of different exam questions that range from the small marked ones to the more problem-solving ones. The summary homework contains a wide range of questions to help pupils to summarise what they have learnt but also to see as a teacher what they have and haven't understood. This lesson is the first lesson that I taught for the river's section of Theme 1 of the new WJEC Geography GCSE course. This lesson pack includes the starter worksheet that looks at the key terms that the students need to know for the drainage basin section of the lesson. Worksheets for the hydrological sections. The powerpoint that runs through what they need to know about the drainage basin and hydrological cycle. This lesson can be done in 58 minutes if stick fully to the timings outlined in the lesson plan, but we all know this can be hard to do, so this lesson can be split up into 2- where the first lesson would then look at the drainage basin and the second lesson would look at the hydrological cycle. A test that assesses pupils understanding of the river’s section of THEME 1. This test uses past exam questions from WJEC and AQA (because the question format is fairly similar) exam boards. This lesson looks at why we have a housing crisis and what solutions there are to slow down the crisis. One of these solutions are garden cities in which we look in detail and look at Plasdwr as our garden city. This case study will also form part of the greenfield development case study. Exam practise on “To what extent” and “How far do you agree?” questions is done throughout to help pupils practise a really hard exam question type.
