I have collected together technical vocabulary and definitions and designed a spreadsheet that generates random worksheets for students to do. The ability to use technical language is a key skill students need. This tool will help them learn that language. All of my drills are fully Excel compatible spreadsheets. This one is a worksheet generator, which can be used to generate an unlimited number of unique questions. Just press F9 (PC) or Cmd+= (Mac) to refresh the spreadsheet and generate a new question.

GCSE Physics Drills (question generators)

Dear Physics Teachers, These resource will help your students master GCSE Physics subject knowledge and skills. This is a complete set of simulations and worksheet generators. Using this resource, you will save yourself time making as many worksheets as your heart desires. How often have you had to tell your students that they need more practice at a particular skill or to acquire some particular knowledge in physics? One day, a student asked me a reasonable question: “where can I get additional questions to practise?” From that simple question spawned my idea to create a series of ‘drill spreadsheets’. These worksheet generators can be used be teachers or students to generate thousands upon thousands of unique worksheets. Most of the sheets can be customised for differentiation quickly by toggling a few options. I wish someone had invented and provided this resource when I started teaching. You do not need to wish, here it is. As I create new drill sheets I’ll add them here, so you will always be able to come back and get the latest sheets. The resources all work with MS Excel and other spreadsheet applications. None of them use VBA or other scripting tools, so they may also work on Macs, Android phones and iPhones, amongst other platforms. When using MS Excel in Windows, press F9 to recalculate formulas and generate new questions. When using MS Excel on a Mac, press Cmd + =. On other packages, the way to recalculate formulas may vary.
Micrometer Drill Question Generator for Physics or Technology

Micrometer Drill Question Generator for Physics or Technology

(0)
This one is a question generator that displays an image of a micrometer scale and asks the student to say what measurement is given. It can produce any random measurement to be determined by the student. To generate new questions, press F9 (PC) or Cmd+= (Mac). The answer appears on the ‘Answer’ sheet. In the ‘Settings’ sheet you can choose whether to force the generator to quantize measurements to match the resolution of the intrument, or not. All of my drills are fully Excel compatible spreadsheets.

A question generator that displays an image of a Vernier scale and asks the student to say what measurement is given. To generate new questions, press F9 (PC) or Cmd+= (Mac). The answer appears on the ‘Answer’ sheet. In the ‘Settings’ sheet you can choose whether to force the generator to quantize measurements to match the resolution of the intrument, or not. Momentum conversation in collisions worksheet generator

(0)
This spreadsheet generates a table with missing quantities that the student has to calculate for fully elastic, fully inelastic and partially elastic collisions. There is a setting to increase or decrease the difficulty level of the questions for differentiation. All of my drills are fully Excel compatible spreadsheets. This one is a worksheet generator, which can be used to generate an unlimited number of unique questions. Just press F9 (PC) or Cmd+= (Mac) to refresh the spreadsheet and generate a new question.

Thermal equilibrium question generator
PhysicsWithKeithPhysicsWithKeith

Thermal equilibrium question generator

(0)
This spreadsheet generates questions where two substances are placed together and allowed to reach thermal equilibrium (assuming no heat loss), and students have to calculate what the equilibrium temperature is. Questions can be quite simple, such as the same substance and no state changes, or much more complicated, such as different substances and only some of one of the substances changing state. This spreadsheet generates full worked solutions too, to help students understand how to solve these types of problems. Teachers can use ‘debug mode’ to choose their own bespoke questions, if they wish, or allow the spreadsheet to generate random questions. All of my drills are fully Excel compatible spreadsheets. This one is a question generator, which can be used to generate an unlimited number of unique questions. Just press F9 (PC) or Cmd+= (Mac) to refresh the spreadsheet and generate a new question.
Force in Equilibrium question generator

Super Planner 5.1 Spreadsheet for Planning

(11)
This is a spreadsheet I created, which enables you to effectively plan across the entire year with ease. The spreadsheet is designed to be robust enough to be useful with most subjects and, if used regularly, can significantly reduce planning time. Better yet, the spreadsheet makes it virtually impossible to forget to set or collect homework.
