Full lesson following the new 9-1 AQA Chemistry Specification. Corrosion and Its Prevention, C15.1. Covers learning aims: Explain the process of corrosion, issues with corrosion and methods of prevention. I used this lesson with a class of mixed ability working at grades 4-7. There is extensive structuring and it is designed for short chunked sections. There is a challenge task that can be used more heavily to take it up to the very top grades on this topic. Whole lesson aimed at Year 7 students on the differences between Evaporation and Boiling. I found that this is a large misconception in a lot of students and so added a lesson into my plan to challenge it. This lesson was used with a large range of abilities. The demo is watching a beaker of water boil on a Bunsen burner and watching a beaker of water evaporate on the surface.
