This is a full lesson of resources for the first two lessons (2-3 hours of teaching) for the Psychodynamic Approach. It includes Levels of Consciousness, Defence mechanisms and Id, Ego and Superego. There are numerous activities and lots of video links throughout and a fun plenary desert island discussion activity which demonstrates the conflicts of Id, Ego and Superego. I teach using the ppt and students make their notes into the provided “notes sheet” to save them copying too much from the board which has the activities inbedded throughout it. Designed to recap the whole psychopathology topic for new spec AQA Psychology. Includes shortened notes for definitions of abnormality, OCD, Depression and Phobias I give the students a copy of the student version (usually 2 slides to page) to complete and annotate while I go through the teacher version as a class. Or I get them to complete bits before we go through it. Another idea - You could delete more text off the student version and they could complete it all themselves for homework before you go through it. I have also included a set of exam questions on psychopathology and some blank boxed for short plans for essays on the topics for second years. I have also uploaded an attachment, Memory and some A2 topics (like Sz and Forensic).

A full set of resources to teach Humanism for AQA Psychology New Spec. This took me two lessons of 90 mins each to complete this Approaches topic. I usually get the students to fill out the notes sheet as I go through the ppt - saves taking so many notes and includes activities in it. A taster session designed to give to year 10/year 11 students thinking of A-level Psychology. Covers Lombroso and biological causes of murder so not really suitable for young children. Included is the popular resource - serial killer or Psychologist card sort to see whether there is anything in the faces of serial killers that gives them away. Lesson has video links and lots of discussion points and takes me around 45 mins.

They have questions on one side and answers on the back - so perfect for independent revision or testing in pairs. They need to be printed double sided and cut up. Has summary activities and exam questions and would work well as an independent revision booklet or for homework. It is 26 pages long and ive included a PDF and word version incase you need to change anything.

A whole series of over 85 psychology strange “facts” to cut up into individual cards. I made a “psychology fact of the week” board and then changed these week by week. I laminated them all individually and chopped them up. Then put a dollop of blue tack on the weird fact board and just rotated the facts. Could also be used at an open evening as a display board as well to stimuate discussion about the subject. Could be used as a fact or fiction activity for the first introductory lesson too if you wanted to. NOTE: I believe them all to be facts, but some have come from google so you never know!
