Spring 1 Maths PPT - Warm up - recap Y1/Y2 curriculum

5 minute activity for each session in Spring 1. Aim is to recap the basic skills taught in Year 1 and Year 2 in starter form. Answers included for children to self assess. Most tasks are differentiated by colour. I've included the overview planning for the terms over the year (subject to change) P.S. I do automatically include mistakes on some of my slides to promote the children to think for themselves and challenge or correct me. Even if these are accidental I leave them on for future uses. We are working on our 'growth mindset' and how learning happens through mistakes - including the teachers.

Hi there, I've included 2 weeks of planning and 1 PPT with most of the texts we used on it. We plan on a theme for 2 weeks in literacy with the first week ending in a 'Big Write' and then the second week they edit their draft and then have an opportunity to write it up in neat. These weren't written for TES and are the actual plans we use, but may be of use to anybody wanting to plan something similar as a starting point. Hope it helps :)

Hi all, I'm RE coordinator (amongst other things) at my school and thought I'd share the the whole school planning I've put in place. We have a termly RE week so it's divided up in that way. I've also added in trips and visitors etc to cover all bases and so that we aren't duplicating across school. It has objectives for each year group broken down for each term. I've also then added planning ideas and activities for each. I've added our policy and also the Nottinghamshire Agreed Syllabus for RE where the objectives have been taken from. Hopefully I've saved you some work! :)

8 KS2 Shared reading texts + comprehension questions

I've uploaded 8 shared reading texts (from the same book - The alchemist) and comprehension questions to match. We've been using these in a Year 3 class (1 text over 2 days. Day 1 acting it out and focusing on new vocab, day 2 on the questions) as we're having a big push on vocabulary given the area we work in. However, I shared these with a Year 6 teacher and they've also used them 1 per session with their class and with greater independence. These are seriously challenging texts and will get you thinking too! - the more challenging vocab is highlighted in red. - some of the texts have a warm up in purple above the text. - I've also put how I want them to begin answering the questions in blue for support (seeing as I used it in Y3 ) This is taken from the first 2 chapters of the book and we are continuing to use this text next half term so will upload more then. I've used PIRA stem question starts for the comprehension questions (given it's a tricky text, there may be one than 1 answer or will depend on how the children explain their answers) Hope these help!

Editable book labels

Hi there, I thought I'd update a set of book labels I made for our school to keep consistency. Each class has an animal name and picture as you will see, each of these is easily changed. We print these onto labels (standard 4 to one A4 sheet) to make it easier to stick onto books. There are 4 boxes in the bottom left, we use these to colour code books and identify for Pupil Premium, SEN, EAL and slow movers. This makes it easier for books scrutiny's but also mean the children won't know what they mean. Hope it helps somebody looking for a whole school theme!

Hi there, I'm RE coordinator and a Year 3 class teacher. I've previously uploaded my long term/whole school RE coverage break down and objectives for each year group. This is our planning for RE week/Autumn -2 comprehension sessions on festivals (as part of our shared reading in the morning) -5 English lessons (on holy books) -2 learning challenge sessions (making mosaics) -1 longer food tasting session (in our Science weekly slot) This was not created for TES and are the actual plans we used but hopefully it still makes sense to outside eyes - useful for ideas and as a starting point. Hope it helps!

(Linked to the book 'Azzi in between' This is our Year 3 Autumn 2 Learning Challenge Planning (coverage of subjects excluding English, Maths and Science) + I've included the break down of coverage across the year at a glance (working doc) so you can see what's covered from the Year 3 curriculum and when. We have 2 hours slots each week for LC sessions. This planning includes a brief overview (WALTs/WILFs, key idea) for 14 sessions (7 weeks) + week 8 is RE week and these plans have been uploaded separately. We also have 2 hours each week allotted for Science. Our Science sessions also slot into the Learning Challenge central question. The planning for this has been uploaded separately. These are the actual plans we used and were not created explicitly for TES. Hopefully they are useful for anyone new to the curriculum or as a starting point. Hope they help!

White Rose Year 3 - Spring (Block 2 - Money) - including resources

I’ve uploaded my White Rose ‘Money’ Spring Block 2 planning, including resources. Hopefully it will save somebody else some time! The starter activities referred to I’ve uploaded separately (they’re on a power point). https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/mental-starters-11805783 I’ve also included a variety of mini maths sessions (57 separate activities) based on the NFR Y3 Autumn assessment papers which I use throughout as additional warm ups and plenaries.
