(Autumn 2) Recapping Y1/Y2 Maths Curriculum PPT, with answers, self assessed

Hi there, I made this resource for Autumn 2 for my Year 3 class. (29 slides/activities) At the beginning of each lesson it's embedded into their routine to independently work through the slide (most are differentiated by colour) and then after a set amount of time I show the answers and they self assess. I've broken the whole Year 1 and Year 2 maths curriculum down into the key skills to be revisited in this way and keep things fresh in their mind. I've included the word doc I made for the break down of the steps and will be uploading a new PPT each half term that follows this break down. Hopefully it will save somebody else some time! (PS most slides include a deliberate mistake as I'm trying to get my class to actively engage and challenge me , rather than just accept the answers they are given. I've found it to really up their engagement and the first to find any, if there are any, receives a class point or something.) Autumn 2 Week 1 2x as repeated addition 2x as drawing groups 2x as arrays 2x as division 2x tables (+ mixed) Week 2 10x as repeated addition 10x as drawing groups 10x as arrays 10x as division 10x tables (+ mixed) Week 3 5x as repeated addition 5x as drawing groups 5x as arrays 5x as division 5x tables (+ mixed) Week 4 3x as repeated addition 3x as drawing groups 3x as arrays 3x as division 3x mixed using any method Week 5 – assessment week Week 6 4x as repeated addition 4x as drawing groups 4x as arrays 4x as division 4x tables (+ mixed) Week 7 (4 days) 0x as repeated addition 0x as drawing groups 0x as arrays 0x tables (+ mixed)

Year 3 - English Non Fiction - David Attenborough documentary (2 weeks planning and most resources)

Hi there, I've included 2 weeks of planning and most of the resources for documentary texts. We plan on a theme for 2 weeks in literacy with the first week ending in a 'Big Write' and then the second week they edit their draft and then have an opportunity to write it up in neat. These weren't written for TES and are the actual plans we use, but may be of use to anybody wanting to plan something similar. Hope it helps :)

Year 3 - RE week planning (10 sessions) Linked to holy books.

Hi there, I'm RE coordinator and a Year 3 class teacher. I've previously uploaded my long term/whole school RE coverage break down and objectives for each year group. This is our planning for RE week/Autumn -2 comprehension sessions on festivals (as part of our shared reading in the morning) -5 English lessons (on holy books) -2 learning challenge sessions (making mosaics) -1 longer food tasting session (in our Science weekly slot) This was not created for TES and are the actual plans we used but hopefully it still makes sense to outside eyes - useful for ideas and as a starting point. Hope it helps!

Year 3 - LC medium term 'Can a bird live off baked beans?'

'Can a bird live off baked beans?' This is our Year 3 Autumn 1 Learning Challenge Planning (coverage of subjects excluding English, Maths and Science) + I've included the break down of coverage across the year at a glance (working doc) so you can see what's covered from the Year 3 curriculum and when. We have 2 hours slots each week for LC sessions. This planning includes a brief overview (WALTs/WILFs, key idea) for 14 sessions (7 weeks) + week 8 is RE week and these plans have been uploaded separately. We also have 2 hours each week allotted for Science. Our Science sessions also slot into the Learning Challenge central question. The planning for this has been uploaded separately. Some of our English sessions have also been linked into this half term's planning (2 week block on Non-Fiction David Attenborough documentaries) and this has also been uploaded separately. These are the actual plans we used and were not created explicitly for TES. Hopefully they are useful for anyone new to the curriculum or as a starting point. Hope they help!

8 KS2 Shared reading texts + comprehension questions

8 KS2 Shared reading texts + comprehension questions

I've uploaded 8 shared reading texts (from the same book - The alchemist) and comprehension questions to match. We've been using these in a Year 3 class (1 text over 2 days. Day 1 acting it out and focusing on new vocab, day 2 on the questions) as we're having a big push on vocabulary given the area we work in. However, I shared these with a Year 6 teacher and they've also used them 1 per session with their class and with greater independence. These are seriously challenging texts and will get you thinking too! - the more challenging vocab is highlighted in red. - some of the texts have a warm up in purple above the text. - I've also put how I want them to begin answering the questions in blue for support (seeing as I used it in Y3 ) This is taken from the first 2 chapters of the book and we are continuing to use this text next half term so will upload more then. I've used PIRA stem question starts for the comprehension questions (given it's a tricky text, there may be one than 1 answer or will depend on how the children explain their answers) Hope these help!

Editable book labels

Editable book labels

Hi there, I thought I'd update a set of book labels I made for our school to keep consistency. Each class has an animal name and picture as you will see, each of these is easily changed. We print these onto labels (standard 4 to one A4 sheet) to make it easier to stick onto books. There are 4 boxes in the bottom left, we use these to colour code books and identify for Pupil Premium, SEN, EAL and slow movers. This makes it easier for books scrutiny's but also mean the children won't know what they mean. Hope it helps somebody looking for a whole school theme!

Year 1 - Whole year's worth of weekly plans - maths, literacy + medium terms for other subjects

Hi there, I thought I'd share the love and give others a chance to benefit from the hours and hours worth of planning that goes into each weekly plan. These are my own plans for the whole of the year. You will obviously need to tweak as some half terms are longer/shorter, or INSET days may vary. I've also included all my weekly timetables with a weekly overview on it + homework for the year! Hope it helps somebody in need!
