This is a six week unit that looks at the causes, build up and key battles of the Wars of the Roses. Written for upper Key stage 2 (but easily adapted) and is differentiated. Would be a great way to start a unit on Tudor history. Everything that you need to teach each lesson is included, including planning, resources and a PowerPoint presentation.

A comprehensive covering letter and personal statement which I wrote during my recent job search. Although it obviously needed to be adapted to suit the needs of each school that I was applying for, I found that having a ‘base’ letter was extremely useful. I was shortlisted for each job I sent this application to (and gained a headship) There was nothing on line at the time that I could use to guide/scaffold me, so I hope that someone finds this useful!

A complete scheme of work, presentations and resources for the book ’ The London Eye Mystery’ by Siobhan Dowd. Aimed at Upper KS2 but easily adaptable. Each lesson is differentiated at least 3 ways. All lessons are ready to go (the only thing missing is the book!). This unit is genuinely ready to reach and planned to a high quality. Each lesson is also available separately and includes a presentation and all resources. I have zipped the files (as there are over 80 individual documents). However, I have also added some loose documents to show you a sample of the quality. Editable versions are included wherever possible. Written for a year 4 class, it is easy to adapt for year 5 or 6 as there is a strong emphasis on basic grammar skills in the planning. A plan which contains all of the instructions, and the resources to set up a crime scene in your classroom. The only thing missing is for you to include the samples from your own crime scene (as this was how I organised the original lesson - with children genuinely ‘detecting’ the crime. However, I have added fingerprint samples, and crime scene photos for a quicker turnaround! I have used this several times, very successfully, both as a WOW topic starter, as science investigation, and even, once as a BIG writing hook. Please leave feedback.
