These A4 differentiated word vocabulary mats are an essential tool for any child and would be perfect laminated and stored in boxes in the middle of the table. The mat focuses on writing a character description.
The mat gives a wide range of vocabulary including words to describe how a characters look, what they wear and their personality. There are also words and phrases to describe where the character may live and their age and gender. Furthermore there are lists of prepositions, adverbs, adjectives and conjunctions which could be included in a description. Finally there is also a model example of a character description that the children can use to uplevel or improve their own piece of writing. The attached images show each mat but each pack includes:

In total there are 8 guided reading lesson plans, covering each of the chapters in the book. Each plan contains a 'reading and responding to the text' activity which is designed to be completed with the class teacher with the reading group. There are then follow up independent activities which the children can then complete during the remainder of the week. All of these activities are closely linked to each of the reading assessment focuses and these are listed at the beginning of each plan.
Each plan also has a list of difficult words which the children can check the meaning of before the teacher led session, space to list the names of the children who are working on the text and a space for a teacher notes and evaluation.

A simple but effective resource to aid writing. On each bookmark there is a list of a range of sentence starters that could be included in a piece of writing. This serves as a great check list for children to refer to. There are 4 identical bookmarks on each A4 page ready to print out on card and laminate.
