Made for the new NEW AQA GCSE Chemistry specification to be sat Summer 2018. Uses a class practical (or demo) from the following RSC page: http://www.rsc.org/learn-chemistry/resource/res00001757/oxidation-of-ethanol?cmpid=CMP00005267 If you are unsure of your classes practical ability, I'd recommend a demo as some of the chemicals aren't very nice.

made for the New GCSE AQA Chemistry spec to be sat Summer 2018. Includes the electrolysis of Copper Chloride as the chosen example. This is due to the fact that it will separate like a simple binary compound despite being in solution and doesn't make it complicated for students new to electrolysis.

Made for the New AQA GCSE Chemistry spec to be sat summer 2018. Main activity can be ran as an information circus/market place or the sheets could be condensed together and run as a more traditional research & write activity.

Made for the New GCSE AQA Chemistry spec to be sat Summer 2018. This is a strict lesson regarding timings. If you pause too long early on, you will likely run out of time. Can be spread over 2 lessons if preferred to allow for recrystallisation stage not shown here or for simply more time to take over the reaction. Also included, is the required practical assessment for the lesson.

Made for the New GCSE AQA Chemistry spec to be sat Summer 2018. Uses a class practical of Electrolysing Sodium Chloride solution with damp blue litmus to test for the production of Chlorine. Having done simple ionic compounds in a previous lesson, most students will already predict this correctly, but will notice that a prediction of Sodium forming does not occur and they should use their previous knowledge to suggest plausible reasons why. Some may need a little more scaffolding questioning to aid them in this.

Made for the new AQA GCSE course to be sat summer 2018. Everything is in the powerpoint and worksheet in a "pick up and go" format with minimal tweaking needed. Mini-practical for students requires coloured filters or transparent coloured plastic at least. Demo to show how colours are made from RGB is good with three colours of LEDs.

Made for the new New AQA GCSE Chemistry course to be sat Summer 2018. Requires students to make a solution of Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate to be used in a later lesson titration practical. If you have volumetric flasks, even for a demo, I would recommend showing them the correct apparatus. As is, I had to make do with conical flasks and measuring cylinders as it appears someone has thrown away ours!

Mr Hook's Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2019

A fun and informative quiz made for the last day of the year. Some rouns will challenge your students and inform them of things they didn’t already know. First round is a subejct specific one, (in my case science,) so you may need to edit it for your own subject area.

Big Fat Quiz of the Year

This is a summary quiz of the years events including a round on Science, which is easily edited for your subject and key-stage to make that relevant. The rest of the quiz includes various rounds with questions to challenge and engage and a final mind puzzle at the end which will take longer. A nice fun way to finish the year!
