AQA Reading Exam Question Practice - Spanish GCSE - Foundation - Theme 2
This is a comprehensive exam practice booklet that covers Theme 2 of the AQA GCSE Spanish exam to prepare Foundation students for their READING component. The Theme 1 booklet is already available in the shop.
This booklet contains 30 in-depth questions like multiple choice, answer in English, T/F/NM, Translations, V/F/NM, P/N/P+N and many others in order to get students used to to the format of the exam without the pressure of a mock or a real paper in front of them.
I designed this booklet as close to the real thing as possible because we all have students that panic just at the sight of a paper that looks like an exam and this is a great way to help them through their fears and allow them to get accustomed to the format of the exam without any marks or target grades.

European Day of Languages Quiz
This is an EDITABLE European Day of Languages Quiz with 38 QUESTIONS that will take your students through different parts of Europe, giving them an understanding of food, general greetings, landmarks and much more!
The quiz has 6 rounds (flags, landmarks & monuments, greetings, European food, where am I?, famous faces) and its main purpose is to develop a wider understanding of the countries so close to the UK, but also spark the students’ interests over different cultures.
The quiz can be done individually but also in teams to encourage a bit of cooperation as well as competition.
An answer sheet is also provided if you’d like to send this quiz out to other departments and make a competition of it as a school.
The quiz can also be done during tutor time as it includes the answers to each question and there is no preparation needed.

Semana Santa / La Pascua - Activity Bundle (Spanish Easter)
This a bundle of activities to celebrate La Pascua suitable for KS3 and lower ability groups at KS4. If you’re looking for activities that will take your students through the 4 core skills of Spanish, this bundle is for you!
It includes the following activities:

Categorisation of nouns, adjectives, and verbs relating to Semana Santa

2x Translation Pyramids (1x in Spanish, 1x in English)
Writing Task (has an extra vocab sheet with sentence starters/key words)

The activities have teacher instructions where needed, in the notes section of each slide in the PPT. I also encourage the use of dictionaries as well, just in case.

La Navidad Wordsearch
This easy to use worksheet is the perfect start to a lesson to discuss La Navidad. It can be used as a starter or plenary to open a discussion about
Spain´s traditions for Christmas, but also as a tutor activity that can be done with students during registration if you’d like to make this a whole-school activity to promote languages.
Students must find different words relating to La Navidad in the word search looking for them across, vertically, horizontally and diagonally. Some letters are used twice to suit two words, so please let your students know that.
It shouldn’t take students more than 10 minutes to complete and if you’d like to expand the activity you could always explain why these words are specific to La Navidad. For example the meaning of the reyes magos or an explanation of what turrón and villancicos are.
You will get a PDF copy of the word search with ANSWERS included. I’ve made sure there is a black and white version as well as a coloured one depending on your printer.

This is an EDITABLE Day of the Dead Quiz with 28 QUESTIONS that will show your students different traditions, customs, and symbols of The Day of the Dead.
The quiz has 3 rounds (yes or no, multiple choice, true or false) and its main purpose is to develop a wider understanding of Día de Los Muertos as well as start a conversation on the meaning of this holiday. Each question comes with an answer afterwards and can be used as a point of discussion in the lesson.

Exit Tickets AQA GCSE Spanish (Speaking Questions)
This is an excellent resource to use for revision of the three themes at GCSE level without planning. I use these exit tickets at the end of the lesson and give each student a different one every time. They must do what the card asks them to do whether it be answering a question, posing a question or simply talking about a given topic freely.
There are 60 exit tickets covering all three themes available!
These exit tickets are super quick and since they cover a variety of topics they can be used in numerous lessons especially to freshen up the students’ minds. The students must think of an answer and verbalize it thus practicing their pronunciation but also their spontaneity to answering such questions.
We all know their speaking exams want natural conversations and through these they can practice and work on those skills. PLUS they can also use their answers for their WRITING PAPER. It’s a win win!

Viva 2 Module 2 revision activities
This resource is a revision lesson for year 8s using the Viva 2 module 2 structure that can be used as an hour-long game with your class. Divide you class in teams (I had 4 or 5 children in each) and get them to work independently as well as together to find the answers for each activity. The lesson encompasses all the four skills and was used to prepare children before their assessments. Children will have the spirit of competition during the entire hour and will actually be revising at the same time! Hope you enjoy it.

Day of the Dead Worksheet
This easy to use worksheet is the perfect way of celebrating Day of the Dead in a relaxing manner whilst also practicing the colours in Spanish. It can be used as a starter or plenary as a discussion is held on what Day of the Dead really means.
Students must colour in each part of the sugar skull with the correct colours according to the numbers indicated on the sheet.
This is a fun retrieval activity for the colours in Spanish that comes with a hint of culture and it shouldn’t take students more than 15 minutes to complete.

Spanish Holidays Reading Tasks
This is a reading comprehension text on Holidays with tasks based on the text. It includes 5 activities and an answer key at the end. For the writing task I have provided a model answer as the task is subjective to the student.
This is aimed at KS3 but could easily be used for lower sets at GCSE and as a revision task for those on the Foundation tier. I had a lot of fun creating these actvities and am curious of how people have found it. Please let me know!
