This lesson is part of Understanding Trade, a Geography unit designed for students in upper KS2 (Y5-6). First the presentation introduces the banana trade and the concept of ‘supply chains’. Students are then challenged to sequence the banana supply chain in a group activity. The Banana Split game, produced by Cafod, is then introduced. This is a great way to help children understand the uneven distribution of power and money in the supply chains of many of every day foods.
