Ideal for first lesson back after lockdown for a bit of revision, or for a ‘fun’ end of term activity. Would work for remote learning. Includes a powerpoint for the quiz, a student answer sheet and a teacher MS with follow up questions to go with each picture. Virtually all pictures and questions are relevant to AQA, OCR and Edexcel.

*Now updated with improved fonts and new-style answer sheet! These worksheets are part of the AQA Section 5 A-level Biology Worksheet Bundle. My students love completing these visually appealing worksheets, which break topics down into manageable chunks. Useful as a revision exercise or as a quick assessment. All worksheets are black and white to allow students to add colour to the diagrams, a process which is thought to aid the formation of visual memories. Includes 5 worksheets covering: structure of mitochondria / sites of aerobic respiration glycolysis the link reaction & Krebs cycle oxidative phosphorylation anaerobic respiration (lactate fermentation and alcoholic fermentation). For most worksheets, differentiated versions are included: where appropriate, a version containing just the diagram for more confident students to annotate themselves. a scaffolded version, with ‘fill in the gap’ structure. Completed versions are included (for oxidative phosphorylation, answers for both permutations of total ATP produced are included, in order to cover all exam boards i.e. 32 / 38 total ATP). These could be used as handouts if you are short of time. *Similar style worksheets also available for: Cell structure Protein synthesis Tissue fluid formation Immune response CO2 transport Respiration Energy transfers Nutrient cycles Epigenetics Inheritance Kidney Receptors Nervous Impulses Blood glucose control In vivo and in vitro cloning If you find these worksheets useful I would really appreciate a positive review. Equally, any constructive feedback would be gratefully received and changes can be made accordingly!

GCSE Biology AQA Required Practical Revision Sheets

(2)
AQA GCSE required practical revision notes/sheets covering all of the Biology Required Practicals (for triple science). Despite being worth 15% of the marks, so many students don’t allocate specific revision time to the required practicals. I designed these sheets for my own students to encourage specific revision of the practicals and have seen a great improvement in practical knowledge and the ability to answer practical-based questions. Each sheet includes an example method and most importantly, exam-style questions and model answers. The model answers for the exam-style questions have been written based on previous mark schemes, but I cannot guarantee that future mark schemes will be exactly the same. The model answers are for guidance only. Students should be encouraged to use these sheets as a starting point and update/annotate them with any further information as needed. Please note that I can accept no responsibility for your final exam grade should you choose to use these revision resources. These resources are intended to help students actively revise, but students should be aware that a high proportion of the marks in your exams are AO2 and AO3 marks and students should therefore use a variety of resources and techniques in preparation for all of the question styles that will be encountered in the exam. Whilst these resources have been written with past mark schemes in mind, there is no guarantee that future mark schemes will be the same. Every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of the information in this resource, but I am only human, so if you spot an error, please email teachsecondaryscience@gmail.com and the resource will be updated ASAP.

Set of 88 flashcards covering practical skills & experimental design. Suitable for all exam boards. Covers topics such as: Different types of variable Accuracy / precision / repeatability etc Uncertainty Range / standard deviation Choice of statistical test Choice of graph Basic practical skills such as scientific drawing rules, eye piece graticule calibration etc There is some ambiguity when it comes to mark schemes on questions such as accuracy/precision - with different exam boards sometimes having slightly different answers. I have tried to include the most appropriate answer on the flashcards, but if anyone disagrees with any of the answers - please do leave a review and I will alter the answers accordingly! This download is the same as the Module 1 OCR A-level Biology flashcards.
Revision Timetable Printable PDF

Revision Timetable Printable PDF

(1)
Printable revision timetables ideal for GCSE and A-level students. Download contains 4 different colour options, plus one black and white version. For each different colour, there is an option with time slots already completed & a blank version for students to choose their own timings for each session. The two hour slots at the beginning & end of each day are for completing past papers - for any other revision, make sure you have a break after 1 hour of revising. I personally don’t suggest students timetable revision for early in the morning and late in the evening on the same day - choosing one or the other is usually best, depending on when students work best.
