This is aimed at supporting writing at mid to upper KS2 and is to be used as a scaffold for children to add their own adjectives, verbs and adverbs to. A whole week's worth of writing activities based around the theme of 'Autumn'. Vivid images to stimulate children's' thinking and develop their vocabularies. Specifically created for shorter writing tasks, each sheet is aimed at a 20-minute writing session, giving time to discuss the task, time for teacher modelling on board/visualiser and time to create a word bank to refer to AND time for children to write. This resource is more concerned with 'mystery' in its wider sense, not just that of the traditional 'Whodunnit' but more about more mysterious things that might be around us in everyday life. Included are three quality activities with story-starters, two resource sheets and two high-quality videos (approx 3 mins long). Both have the same images and original, atmospheric soundtrack which will be guaranteed to stimulate discussion. The second video has added annotations to encourage those students who are finding it difficult to engage.
