This Unit of Work is surrounding the Novel “The Boy at the Back of the Class” suitable for Year 4/5/6. It consists of one A4 PDF plan per Chapter including: ’Demonstration Reading’ Quotes - Example of what to say when unpicking a sentence when modelling the ‘reading brain’ and the quote page number for reference (as used by Jane Considine). VIPERS Style Questions: - 6 assorted questions to explore the chapter and ensure understanding. (As used by Literacy Shed) Activities: - A range of activities and links to resources that enhance and build upon the themes and events within the chapter. e.g. PHSE Circle Time, Creating a Fact File on Syria, PE Marching Formations, Maths Investigations surrounding money. A description of how to use these in class is also provided. Useful links and website used in the creation of this resource have been added to the end of the file. A resource made surrounding The Twits - Roald Dahl for my Year 3 and 4 pupils to access whilst home learning. Can be used as a unit of work in school too.

Complete unit of work including 5 English, 5 Maths and 5 Topic Lessons for a full week of work of Trust me, Jack’s Beanstalk Stinks (A twisted tale of Jack & the Beanstalk). Brief overview of lessons are in the product image. Lessons are differentiated 3 ways (mild, hot and spicy) except those that are shared or collaborative. Created as both a powerpoint and a PDF for ease of displaying on whiteboard and printing out what you need. All teaching slides and worksheets are included in both files.
