Students search for the different types of number in the number cloud using the tests of divisibility (videos available on “The Maths Angel” on YouTube if which they wish to refer to as a reminder). This worksheet may be used for primary students or as a recap for students who are sitting the Foundation Tier GCSE. After each number type, there is a number in brackets informing the students of how many of that type of number there are to find. Answers are included.

TMA - Plans and Elevations Worksheet and ANSWERS

This worksheet has 6 3D shapes on isometric dotty paper for students to draw the plan view, side view and front view. There is a second copy which is the same sheet reduced so that it appears twice on A4 to reduce photocopying and therefore also paper wastage. Tell the students that shapes 4 and 5 are a sheer drop at the back (there is nothing hidden behind). I have also supplied the answers which have been done on cm squared paper and the students will therefore need squared paper to draw the answers out.

TMA - Quadratic Sequences and the nth Term Homework 1 and ANSWERS

This is a topic that I have taught to students as young as Year 7 (top and middle sets) for a number of years. The algebra is basic but students are amazed when you tell/show them that this type of question has appeared in a recent GCSE Higher Tier paper (Edexcel June 2017 Higher Tier Paper 2 Question 22 of 23). I have found it to be a topic that motivates students and the method can lead the curious to finding out the algebra to calculate the cubic nth terms and beyond. There are 4 questions for the students to answer on this homework and worked answers are included.

I created this homework (with answers) on Pythagoras’ Theorem to use with top set year 10. It is 6 different ways that Pythagoras’ Theorem questions could be presented, including 3D Pythagoras’ Theorem problems. I have also used it as a revision homework task for my second set year 11.
