If the world were a village of 100 people… 86 would be able to read and write, 14 would not… 63 would own a mobile phone… etc All statistics updated (Sept 2019) to reflect latest data. Display demonstrating some global statistics and pictures of various different cultures and human geography features. Well presented and students find it very interesting. Ready to print and put straight on the board. Minimum fuss.

Fantastic, fully resourced, differentiated mystery lesson on the Moore tornado in Oklahoma. Observed by SLT and was highly praised. Ideal introduction lesson for extreme weather or linked topics, and perfect for Ofsted/Observations. Resources include: Card sort Suggested Questions list - broken down by point in the lesson it is appropriate to ask Powerpoint Hypothesis sheet A3 table mat starter Newspaper template (Can be edited in 5 seconds to include your own school name at the top!) Key words and sentence starters Lesson runs as follows (but could be altered) Starter - A3 photo table mats on the tables when students come in - slide on board - who/what/where/when/why? (questioning - careful not to give it away!) Hypothesis 1 - AFL opportunity. Card sort - break down into clues about what happened, and impacts of the event Card sort 2 - recategorise the impacts into environmental/social/economic and/or long term/short term Hypothesis 2 Youtube link to video reveal Newspaper article extended writing piece (key words and sentence starters sheet to support)

Ideal display for Geography classrooms - 33 Pictures of various cool places around the world. I have set it up with a World map in the middle, pictures around the outside and string (not included!) to locate the places on the map. Could also be adapted relatively quickly into an activity for students to try and locate different places around the world using an atlas etc
