Make Henry Hamster a Happy Home interactive workshop

A fun, interactive workshop where children meet Henry the hamster in need of a new home. Through pair discussions help him choose a cage, bedding, toys and friends and see if he is happy with your choices. This is a pre recorded presentation led by an experienced educator from Woodgreen. Don’t expect to be sitting down for long though, there’s plenty of opportunity to get moving around and interact with the fun activities. You’ll even have an imaginary hamster sitting on all of your hands by the end! Learning objectives: Pupils can recognise all animals have basic needs. Pupils can start to demonstrate compassion towards animals. SMSC links: Pupils have a sense of enjoyment and fascination in learning about the world around them. Pupils understand the consequences of their behaviour and actions on the welfare of their pets. Suggested ages: Reception, Year 1 and Year 2
