If sentences – topic “Dance”
This resource offers an activity for practicing the correct use of Conditional sentences (If sentences) based on topic “Dance”. The task is to complete the sentences. It provides not only Grammar check but also develops creativity and critical thinking skills.
Talking about the future (English Grammar). Level: intermediate
This resource offers an activity for practicing the correct use of Present Simple, Present Progressive/Continuous, going to + infinitive, will + infinitive while talking about future events.
It is made as an auction game. So, you should put students into groups and tell them that each team has $10,000 (optional). Decide about a bid, e.x. $500. Take your copy of the sentences and cut them up. These then become individual items which you take in random order. Begin the bidding.
Before starting it, remind them about the rules of use the above-mentioned grammar.
Teacher`s instructions to students:
Dear students, you are going to attend an auction and bid for items. The items are English sentences to talk about the future. You must bid for sentences that you think are grammatically correct. (The winners are those who buy the most correct sentences. In the event of a tie, the victory is determined by who has most money left.)
Students` actions:
Study sentences to decide which are correct, i.e. which they want to buy, and why they are right or wrong. When all the sentences have been sold they can be checked.
