**What will my students learn from this activity? This resource has been designed for teachers who want to show their students learn that everyday materials can be physically changed in a variety of ways (ACSSU018). As they move through this re-imagined story of Goldilocks, your students will investigate how objects made from different materials can be physically changed by bending, twisting and stretching. **How do I use this resource with my students? This project has been inspired by the story of Goldilocks. As students move through the book with their teacher, they will help Goldilocks complete a number of tasks that require them to think like a scientist. Before delivering this lesson to your students, you will need to undertake the following steps: print a copy of this booklet for every student in the class gather materials that can be twisted for your students to manipulate gather materials that can be bent for your students to manipulate gather materials that can be squashed for your students to manipulate gather materials that can be stretched for your students to manipulate For the purposes of this activity, I would recommend pipe cleaners, rubber bands, paper clips, plastic rulers, play dough, foam balls, cling wrap and Lycra. **What will my students do as they work through this activity: Your students will: Compare two materials that can be twisted and decide which one would work best in a given scenario (page 3-4); Compare two materials that can be bent and decide which one would work best in a given scenario (page 5-6); Compare two materials that can be squashed and decide which one would work best in a given scenario (page 7-8); and Compare two materials that can be stretched and decide which one would work best in a given scenario (page 9-10).**
