Much Ado About Nothing: Beatrice and Benedick Information Sheets

(0)
Much Ado About Nothing: Beatrice and Benedick Assessment Prep/Information Sheets. This download is for two sheets, one for Benedick and the other for Beatrice. These resources are perfect to use as homework or as an independent task to prepare for an assessment. A perfect assessment question to use these resources in planning would be "How does Shakespeare present Benedick and Beatrice's relationship in Much Ado About Nothing?". This worksheet would allow students to compare and contrast Beatrice and Benedick effectively. The guided questions are simple enough for students of a low ability to make inferences but also open enough for students of a higher ability to write additional interpretations and challenge themselves.

Much Ado About Nothing Character Information Collection Sheet

(0)
Much Ado About Nothing Character Information Collection Sheet This sheet contains images of each of the characters from the movie version which can be found on YouTube here: This can be used as a starter activity once students have begun to understand the characters. In each box students should write down qualities of the character, any events or information they know about the characters. This is a great resource for determining prior knowledge and building on it over time. There is also a space to collect one quote for each character for revision purposes. At the bottom of this resource is also a set of success criteria which may help students form any paragraphs about character presentation they may come across.

Much Ado About Nothing: Guess The Speaker

(0)
This is a great activity to do for low ability students whilst they watch the movie. Students can identify who is speaking but they can also begin to analyse the quotations because I have left space around the quotes for annotations. This will allow students to feel less intimidated by a Shakespearean text. For higher ability students this could be done without the film - and students would have to recall information/interpret which character is speaking based on the tone that they are using.

This lesson plan has a lot of depth and is open to interpretation which means that it can be used for both lower ability and higher ability depending on differentiation strategies. I used this with a low ability group and we went through each question in detail. This resource was designed with the Language Component 1a question in mind and questions are adapted using the exemplar question papers provided by Eduqas. It is possible to use this resource as an assessment/data collection due to the fact that i have attached a mark scheme for the Impression question and the marks for the other questions are on the powerpoint resource.

Verbs & Imperative Verbs: Literacy Lesson

Students will be able to understand the fundementals of verbs. This lesson can be adapted so that students remain in their seats but there are two activities which require them to be out of their seats. These are Simon Says and Share Ideas. Students loved this lesson, they particularly loved watching the clip and collecting the verbs they could see happening. They also enjoyed creating their own paragraphs full of verbs!
Adverbs: Literacy Lesson

Adverbs: Literacy Lesson

(0)
The focus of this lesson is to show students that within creative writing adverbs allow us to see more about a character/situation and how adverbs can change the tone of an entire piece of writing. Students build on their prior knowledge of adverbs by working as a group to edit paragraphs lacking adverbs (you can differentiate this easily because as the paragraphs move on in the resource attached they get more difficult). My students LOVED this lesson and now I do lots of literacy lessons with interactive bits like this.

Activities throughout the two lessons allow students to generate ideas collaboratively and independently. Videos are used as a visual stimulus. The "School Trips Argument Sheets" are best being printed in A3 format. Additional resources are attached. Literacy included: Verbs, Imperative Verbs, Persuasive Techniques.
