I've just finished my Secondary PGCE in MFL in June 2019, so many of my resources will be put on to aid those who were in the same position as me! Hopefully in time, my resources will be catered to all! I hope to be useful for all those with many years of experience and inspire future teachers!

Some useful resources to revise “El Laberinto del Fauno”. In the first presentation, where the plot is summarized, you can copy and paste it, cut it into sections and give one part to each one of your students. They will need to read them aloud and find the correct order and recreate the story. The presentation about TRIO, it is a “feedback lessons” in which pupils can recognise their main mistakes and correct them.

This booklet will structure your weekly vocab tests with GCSE classes, particularly year 11. Aims of this booklet • To help students prepare for the listening and reading exams alongside other revision materials. • To increase the number of words they understand from Spanish to English. • To break down some of the official GCSE vocabulary into manageable chunks. • To enable independent learning at home. • To allow parents/guardians to support students with revision. Start with the matchcards to introduce the vocabulary needed to describe schools. The worksheet supports students in writing their own short descriptions of their current school and their primary school. Teaching notes are here below: Copy the vocabulary on page one onto card and cut up the word cards so that each small group of students will have one set. It helps to use a different colour card for each copy made so that the word cards can’t get mixed up between groups. Starter and plenary activities Put the vocabulary cards out on the desks for students to start matching as soon as they arrive. As each group finishes you can quickly check their cards and then move them on to any of the following extension activities:  Turn all the English cards face down – how many of the meanings can you remember? Turn them over to check.  Turn all the Spanish cards face down – how many can you remember by just looking at the English?  Pelmanism memory game – mix up all the cards, turn them face down and take turns to choose two cards. If the cards match, keep them as a pair and have another turn. If not, it’s your partner’s turn to try and find a pair. At the end of the lesson, students could revisit the activities above, perhaps racing against the clock this time to see who can match the cards the fastest. Students can also quiz each other on the English/Spanish phrases to see who can recall the most words. Worksheet Hand out copies of the worksheet on page two for students to complete the grid with the English meanings (you can allow them to use the paired vocabulary cards on their desks for reference if support is needed). Page one can be projected for them to check their answers. Students can then complete the writing tasks A-D. Answer for A En mi Instituto hay muchos edificios pero el Instituto es anticuado. Falta una cantina grande y me gustaría unos campos deportivos modernos. Answer for B In my school there are many buildings but the school is old-fashioned. It is lacking a big canteen and I would like some modern sports pitches.
