**ZONES OF REGULATION ** Learning to identify and regulate emotions can be difficult for some children. My school is preparing for more children to do so when we return to the classroom in the new year by employing a technique called the zones of regulation. The goal of the exercise is for the children to harness techniques to remain in the green zone as this is where they are most productive and content. In our first week back, I am going to find time to allow the children to explore their triggers for different emotional states and find coping mechanisms that work for them and are acceptable to use in the classroom.
