Following the GCSE Edexcel exam this summer/November (due to Covid 19), I put together an example answer for each of the writing questions for my students to learn following their Mocks. I did spell check it obviously but please let me know if I missed something. This work is purely my own.

This is an example answer which I have written for my Year 11 students following a piece of homework I set them recently which is purely my own following Module 1 Unit 6 ex 8 of the Studio Edexcel GCSE French textbook. I then make my students “ACTION” checklist (see my other resource) my work and as an extension task they then have to improve it… I hope you find it useful.

Every term I like to survey the students learning Languages in my school and use their answers to help move my Dept forward and to listen to their views etc as student voice is so important. Please feel free to use in your own school.

Dominoes game blank template to use

This is a great resource to use as a starter or plenary activity for any language lesson. On each domino put the French and then the English word (or any other language for that matter), mix them up and hand them out to students and then they have to match them out. This is not my own resource but one that I have been using for a while now and have also seen used by many people and wanted to share it.

Writing a Blog about your Town or Village EXAMPLE

I put together an example answer for this question on Town but I forget which Exam Board it comes from or whether its a question from a practice paper or a question from a GCSE textbook. I did spell check it obviously but please let me know if I missed something. This work is purely my own.

Thank you. As a Head of Department I was asked a few years ago by my school to come up with a vision for my MFL Department which would go at the bottom of all my emails etc. Feel free to use and adapt if needed.

Following an extremely useful teacher training course in London last year one of the other teachers (sorry I didn’t know his name) shared this idea of using ‘ACTION’; with our GCSE students in order to check their own Writing and Speaking Controlled Assessment tasks and gain the maximum higher marks as well as a key revision aid. I have found this extremely useful with all my students since then so I thought I would share it. Please feel free to comment or give any suggestions.
