LO-to revise the differences between constructive and destructive waves This is a memory-based activity inspired by the popular party game ‘Kim’s game’. It is up to you how you use this resource: First, show the fully labelled diagram (slides 2+4 for higher ability and 3+5 for lower ability) with time to memorise. Then show it with one label missing and students have to write what’s missing on their mini whiteboard (kim’s game slides 11-26). Show the fully labelled diagram (slide2-5) on the board for them to memorise for a set amount of time before taking it off the board. Give everyone a blank copy of the diagram (slides 6-7). They then have to fill in as much as possible from memory. Could have an option to request a second view of the board but this would lose points. Could offer key words either verbally or written on the class whiteboard but also at a cost. To practise recall – use as a starter each lesson for a couple of weeks and reduce the time limit to view the fully labelled diagram each time until they can do it completely from memory.
