This resource is a fictional comprehension activity for year 2. It is a fictional diary entry written in character as Florence Nightingale. It is based on the KS1 SATs reading paper and includes 3 differentiated levels.
There are a range of 'what' 'where' and 'how' questions, some multiple choice tick questions and some that require more detailed answers. The activity is also laid out in a similar way to the SATs booklets, with four pages of pictures and short written extracts to read and 2-3 questions per page. Answers are also included.

This is a plan and PowerPoint presentation for an assembly on The Last Supper, with a focus on the theme of betrayal. . The 5 page pdf plan is easy to follow and requires no resources, so is perfect for using at the last minute!
I like leading assemblies that are interactive, engaging and relevant to the children’s lives. So, this assembly involves an anecdote about a childhood friend who betrayed you. You can use the examples in the plan or use an anecdote from your own childhood. This is then linked to Judas betraying Jesus before the events of Good Friday. There is a lot of opportunity for children to think about their own experiences and to feedback. There is also an example prayer/reflection to finish with.
There is also an optional 34 slide PowerPoint which covers all parts of the assembly including the anecdote, The Last Supper story, the discussion/conclusion and the final prayer. This resource contains 4 comprehension activities suitable for using with year 1. The theme in this pack is ‘rainforests.’ There are four different comprehensions:
What are rainforests?
Rainforest animals
Animal defence in the rainforest

They each contain a short piece of text (about 5 sentences) with words that can be sounded out. There are three trickier words which have pictures to help children work out what they say.

These Year 2 SATs style multiplication revision problems are split into 3 differentiated levels. Each level contains 20 reasoning and 10 arithmetic problems with answers.
The higher level (Super Super Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 2 and Year 3 curriculum and is in the style of a SATs paper.
The intermediate level (Super Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 2 curriculum and is based on past SATs papers.
The lower level (Challenge) contains questions covering the Year 1 curriculum.
