Place Value consolidation activity (year 2 or early year 3)

With my year 3s this was a great consolidation task for them to show what they know about 2digit number place value they learnt in year 2 at the beginning of the year. They first rolled a dice and then concretely showed the number in dienes, pictorially represented on this sheet using the dienes symbols and then did it abstractly. It's a sheet easily adapted for 3 digit numbers for year three and was very successful with my class. *PLEASE NOTE THIS ORIGINAL DOCUMENT USES THE TWINKL CURSIVE FONT. Using the 'Green for Growth' marking system, the children in my year 3 class chose their own level of challenge to edit and improve these pieces of writing.
