Topics start from note values, rhythm, time signatures right through to, pitch, scales, intervals and chords. Explanations, information and exercises are used along the way.

This book guides the students through brief 1 (chorale writing) for AQA A Level music. The main rules, guidelines and tips are outlined with examples from Bach and lots of exercises for the pupils to have a go at from simple voicing of the 4 types of cadences to adding accented passing notes and use of the diminished chord. Is starts simple and then progresses. There are also past paper 4-part examples to have a go at.
