This is a list of online teaching resources and ideas that I have used and that worked well in an online classroom, for History, Geography and RE. (I previously taught English and Humanities at KS3 and KS4 for 3 years at an online Alternative Provision which was commissioned by Local Authorities for students with a wide range of needs.) Thought this would be useful in the current climate!

This is a list of online teaching resources that I found worked well in an online classroom setting for tasks and activities. For each resource there is a note to explain how I used it. Thought this might be useful in the current climate!

Differentiated workpacks - Higher - Middle - Lower Ability Suitable for KS3 and KS4 Focuses on key terminology for the topic of rivers and the processes at each stage of the river. Includes weblinks, independent reading and a variety of tasks. This could be used independently either printed or uploaded on a VLE or can be used as a google document in an online lesson.

A single A4 sheet to plan an overview of a unit of work. This download includes a completed exemplar, and 5 editable sheets with Cognitive Development Goals (Differentiated for Grades 1-5) and guidance for use. Space is included for you to outline: Unit Rationale Subject Skills - Composite parts Curriculum links Addressing Identified Gaps in Learning Cognitive Development Goals (Differentiated for Grades 1-5) Differentiated learning outcomes Assessment Task and Success criteria Weekly topics Keywords/Literacy focus SMSC focus This document makes it easy to make explicit curriculum intent and impact for inspection/observation purposes.

A PowerPoint template that I use as a ‘base’ for planning all of my lessons. This template has also been used in an online classroom and is easily adapted to include interactive tasks and activities. The widescreen format is also compatible with being uploaded to online classroom platforms. This template includes all of the various aspects that ‘observers’ may be looking to see highlighted in a lesson.
