This resource is a version of the popular board-game Trivial Pursuit based around the themes and sub-themes of the new Spanish A Level course (AQA specifications).
I have assigned a category to each colour:
Aspects of Hispanic society (red)
Artistic culture in the Hispanic world (yellow)
Multiculturalism in Hispanic society (purple)
Aspects of political life (blue)
Grammar (orange)
Translation (green)
The resource includes a printable board (better printed in colour and enlarged to A3) and 24 question cards (with one question for each category, so a total of 192 questions). Additionally, there is a file with six counters and six “score cards”, with a “pie” for the students to colour the different sections as they achieve them.
This resource can be used as a whole class activity if displayed on the board, but it can also be printed (in colour!) for students to work in groups of up to six.
This resource has 54 sentences (18 for each of the three themes of the new GCSE), all of which contain one or more mistakes. I have based them on some of the most common mistakes my GCSE students have been making over the last few years, and they include, amongst others:
word order
adjectival agreement
the use of the infinitive
verbs like gustar
Additionally, the resource includes a brief explanation of the rules each section focuses on.
This is a very comprehensive resource (245 pages altogether) which provides the students with a lot of opportunities to practice the different parts of the new Spanish GCSE exam.
The booklet is divided into three sections:
Part 1: role plays. This section contains 59 role plays (at both foundation and higher level) and cover all three themes of the AQA specification ( Theme 1 Identity and culture, Theme 2 Local, regional, international and global areas of interest and Theme 3 Current and future education and work).
Part 2: photo cards, with 90 photo cards, again on Higher and Foundation level and covering all three themes.
Part 3: general conversation booklet, with a very extensive list of questions covering every aspect of the three themes.
This resource provides plenty of activities to complete in the lessons, but it is also ideal to use as homework, independent work or even cover work for students of all abilities.
Each of the sections of the booklet can be found as a separate unit in my shop:

This 62-page long booklet contains a very comprehensive overview of the grammar required to succeed in the new GCSE course.
It is divided in three sections, one for each theme of the new GCSE, and within each of those there are two parts, one dedicated to verbs and one dedicated to all the other lexical categories.
Each entry of the booklet focuses on one aspect of grammar, with a brief explanation of how to use the structure that is being covered, the rules and exceptions that need to be taken into account, and a variety of examples. This is always followed by an “Ahora practica” section with activities for the students to complete. Whenever possible, the examples and activities match the theme that the specific structure has been included under (e.g., the majority of examples and activities used to study the present tense will be related to the topics from theme 1 - relationships, technology, leisure and festivals).

This booklet contains 72 speaking cards based on Theme 1, Theme 2, Theme 3 and Theme 4 of the new Spanish A Level course (Aspects of Hispanic society, Artistic culture in the Hispanic world, Multiculturalism in the Hispanic World and Aspects of political life in the Hispanic world).
The cards contain (quite a lot) of factual information about the theme (a lot more than the sample cards from AQA) and three questions, the first one always being “How do you react to the information on this card?” or similar).
The aim of presenting the cards like this is to provide the students with a lot of ideas on what to say about the theme, as well as making them more aware that they always have to discuss the information printed on the card (AO2 and AO4).
There are eighteen cards for each theme (six cards for each sub theme), and each section is followed by a minimum of 20 questions to encourage the students to explore and discuss the topic further.
The booklet ends with a list of vocabulary useful for the speaking test, and it also includes an overview of the A Level course, of Paper 3 and of the assessment criteria.

UPDATE (13/06/19) - The booklet has been adapted to replace some of the more general questions and with other questions focused on Spanish speaking countries.
A very comprehensive set of resources to study the topic of festivals in Spain. The presentation (25 slides) includes reading and writing activities, two role plays, six photo cards and two translations (Spanish into English and English into Spanish). The set also includes 6 worksheets that complement the presentation.
Finally, there is a grammar activity that focuses on the use of impersonal verbs (“se” + he/she form of the verb) and the conditional.
UPDATE: This resource now includes a worksheet with 8 activities based on the Mexican festival Dia de los muertos.
A 37-page booklet to help prepare Spanish A Level students for Paper 3 (speaking test). The booklet covers the four themes and twelve sub-themes studied in the two-year course, as well as guidelines on how to approach the Individual research project.
It also includes a student-friendly overview of the new specification, an explanation of the requirements of Paper 3, the assessment objectives and the mark scheme for both part one (discussion if a sub-theme) and part two (presentation and discussion of the individual research project) of the paper.
Each sub-theme in part one is illustrated with one of the sample photo cards from AQA, followed by a list of 20 to 30 questions that the students could be expected to be able to answer when discussing the sub-theme. There are 285 questions altogether, providing the students with opportunities to study each sub-theme in quite a lot of detail (and the teachers with plenty of homework opportunities!)
The booklet also explains what the individual research project consists of, what the teacher’s role is and suggested titles.
Finally, the booklet also contain three pages of useful language for the test.
UPDATE (13/06/19) - I have updated the booklet to get rid of the more “general” questions and focus it more on Spanish speaking countries.
This resource contains a series of reading and writing activities to support Spanish A Level students studying El laberinto del fauno. It focuses on the different techniques used by del Toro, specifically the use of allegory, the elements of the fairy tale, the use of colour and the different kinds of shots and camera angles.
It also provides the students with several essay questions, independent learning and research opportunities, as well as a checklist to self-assess their essays.
There is a free sample of this activity on this link:

This bundle contains a lot of A Level resources that the students can use as part of their home learning:
Fact file, with a lot of factual information for all the topics of the A Level course
A very comprehensive Grammar Booklet, with thorough explanations of the main grammar points and activities to practise them.
Discussion cards, based on the topics of the AQA A Level course and on the Paper 3 exam.

A very detailed student’s support guide to work on Pan’s Labyrinth (our of all the resources I have produced, this is the one I am most proud of).
A variety of reading and writing activities on several different topics.
A twelve page booklet to prepare Spanish A Level students for paper 2 of the new specification (2018 examination), specifically focused on Emilio Gutiérrez-Lázaro's film Ocho apellidos vascos.
The booklet includes:
- a summary of the requirements of the paper
- the assessment objectives and mark scheme
- two initial activities to "get the students thinking" (20 questions about key aspects of the film, and lines from the film for the students to discuss)
- the four essay questions from the AQA sample materials
- a further 15 essay questions (some of them adapted from past exam questions from the outgoing specification).
- four pages of useful language to write an essay
-a self-assessment check-list for the students to use to reflect on their own work.
Please note that both Word and PDF versions of the booklet are included, as sometimes the Word version of files uploaded to TES appear distorted in previews.
This three-page file includes a lot actual information about Spanish culture and society, focusing on the topic of Spanish regional identity (festivals, gastronomy and regional languages), part of the theme Artistic Culture in the Hispanic World of the new Spanish A Level. It provides students with facts and statistics, which should be very helpful in preparation for Paper 3 (the speaking exam). The information in the file can also be easily adapted to reading or translation activities.
This is a board game to get English as a Foreign Language to practise their speaking (and mediation) skills.
It is based on games such as Snakes and Ladders, but since I have designed the board, I have explained all the peculiarities in the instructions.
Each time the players roll the dice, they will have to complete a speaking, mediation (explain a graph) or grammar task. The different tasks are:
making a speech on a specific topic.
having a discussion with a partner on a specific topic.
answering a question.
taking part in a role play with a partner.
correcting a common mistake in a sentence.
If the player completes the task correctly they can stay in the box where they’ve landed. If they don’t, they’ll have to go back.
All the resources needed to play the game are included: 24 grammar cards, 24 discussion cards, 24 question cards, 12 role play cards and 12 graph cards.
There are a few special boxed to keep the game more exciting: the lift, that helps the players move forward or backwards a few places; the dice, which allows them to roll the dice again; the field, where they relax for a turn, and the grim reaper, which takes them back to the starting point.
The game is designed for B2 students, but can be easily adapted for other levels.
EDIT: PLEASE IGNORE THE AWFUL PREVIEWS, THE ACTUAL FILES LOOK FINE, AS SHOWN BY THE COVER PICTURE, A SCREEN CAPTURE OF THE BOARD.
Two practice writing papers (one foundation, one higher) following the format of the new GCSE writing exam. The foundation paper includes four questions (describe the photo, 40 words question, translation and 90 words question) and the higher paper includes three (90 words question, 150 words question and translation). The papers focus on Theme 1 of the new spec (Identity and culture) and they cover family and relationships, technology and leisure.
I have also included two feedback sheets (one foundation, now higher) that include"check-lists" (based on the AQA mark scheme for writing) to provide quick, personalised feedback for each of the questions. The check lists provide the students with feedback on what went well (WWW) and what they need to do to improve further (TIF).
The resource also includes an explanation of the requirements of the Foundation and the Higher writing papers and a copy of the mark scheme for each question.
Also available in French: https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/new-french-gcse-practice-writing-paper-and-feedback-sheets-theme-1-identity-and-culture-11668337
This resource includes six discussion cards based on the sub-theme of Integration, part of the theme Multiculturalism in the Hispanic world of the New A Level course.
The cards are based on the new speaking exam. Each of them includes information on each the sub theme followed by three questions on each specific topic, the first of which always asks the students to react to the information on the card.
Finally, the six cards are followed by twenty questions that can be used to explore the sub-theme further, and a list of useful vocabulary for the speaking test.
This resource contains twenty-four 150-word questions to revise the three themes of the new GCSE course (AQA specification). The 150-word question is part of the higher writing exam.
There are eight questions for each of the three themes of the course (Identity and culture, Local, national, international and global areas of interest and Current and future study and employment), and two questions for each of the topics in each theme.
Each of the questions contains two bullet points that the students are expected to cover; the bullet points are written to resemble the ones found in the 2018 paper and those in the sample questions provided by AQA. At least one of the bullet points in each question prompts the students to refer to either the past or the future, and several questions ask the students to write their “recommendations”.
Finally, the booklet also contains a copy of the mark scheme for the 150 word question and an overview of the themes and topics.
This resource can be used as part of everyday teaching, as end of unit assessment, for revision purposes and it is an easy way of setting useful homework.
This resource is a follow-up to my 90-Word questions booklet, which has proved to be very popular since I uploaded it about a year ago an which can be found here:

This is a free sample of this resource:
https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/new-spanish-gcse-speaking-test-photo-cards-11959939
The full resource consists of a booklet with ninety photo cards covering in a lot of detail all three themes of the new Spanish GCSE course: Identity and culture (40 cards), Local, national, international and global areas of interest (24 cards) and Current and future study and employment ( 26 cards).
Each of the cards contains five foundation and five higher questions (colour-coded, using red for foundation and blue for higher), the firsts of which is always “¿Qué hay en la foto?”.
One of the first three questions in the foundation set always requires the use of a tense other than the present (past, future or conditional), whereas the others elicit opinions and additional information from the students. In the higher set, all three time frames are covered, with one of the first three questions requiring the use of a tense other than the present and one of the final two questions requiring references to the other time frame.
The booklet also includes a student-friendly explanation of the requirements of the new speaking exam and a copy of the mark scheme for the photo card.
The photo cards can also be found split into the different themes in my shop.
They can also be found as part of a more comprehensive resource (a book with a multitude of role plays and questions for the general conversation) here:
