Single Worksheet and Answer Key/Mark Scheme on Angles of Elevation and Depression
The activity is based off of the IGCSE 0580 standard which states:
E6.2 – Apply Pythagoras’ theorem and the sine, cosine and tangent ratios for acute angles to the calculation of a side or of an angle of a right-angled triangle.

This is a revision guide for students to remember how to solve trigonometric problems dealing with angles of elevation and depression.
The guide will help students, solving for the angle of elevation/depression, to correctly apply the Trigonometric ratios, sine, cosine, and tangent to the appropriate angle.

This matching activity can be used in a variety of ways and is subject to your expectations for your student(s). The cards are colorful and easy to read to ensure student engagement. Simply print out the activity on card paper or regular paper, laminate, and cut them into individual cards.
In total, there are 36 cards divided into sets of three equivalent representations of a linear equation. The first card in the set is a linear equation in standard form. The second card is a graph of a linear equation. The third card is the same linear equation in slope-intercept form.
If a student changes the equation from slope-intercept form to standard form, they will need to ensure that the coefficient of the x term is always positive and a whole number value.
The last two pages contain cut outs that can be used to let students know if they are correct or if they have two out of the three matches correct. You can use the traditional marking scheme with checks, crosses, and a hyphen for partially correct, or the various faces.
