Ultimate Times Tables Maths BINGO for KS2 and KS3 (+ FREE BLANK CROSSWORD CREATOR)

Ultimate Times Tables Maths BINGO for KS2 and KS3 (+ FREE BLANK CROSSWORD CREATOR)

Make learning your times tables a bit more fun with Ultimate Times Tables Bingo. -Includes 32 unique bingo cards - in black and white AND colour. -Has the answers to tables up to 12 x 12. -Each number (product) also shows the number of ways that it can be made with a smaller number next to it in brackets. This could be used to support work on probability. -Children can choose their own number not already on their bingo card. The best option would be to choose either 12 or 24 (which ever of the two is not already on it) because both of these numbers have six ways of making them. -These bingo cards are fair since every card has exactly the same chance of winning - until they choose their own number. This is because there are exactly 25 different ways of making the 11 numbers already on each bingo card. If they choose either 12 or 24 as their last number, there will be 31 ways altogether. -Also includes 1 - 12 cards. Cut these out and use these to choose the times tables. Make sure that you replace the cards between choosing the first and second numbers or print two sets. This could easily be used in small groups in the classroom with minimal photocopying. INCLUDES FREE BLANK CROSSWORD CREATOR. EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO PLAN AND PRODUCE CROSSWORD ON ANY CHOSEN THEME. THIS CAN BE USEFUL FOR LEARNING SPELLINGS OR GENERAL REVISION. The Great Maths Quest - Triangle Mystery for Years 5 and 6 (+ FREE BLANK BOOKLETS 4 AND 8 PAGE)

Extract In your desperate attempt to escape the pack of ravenous dogs, you find yourself in a deep ravine. The rock face on both sides is almost vertical and you are far too tired, anyway, to even contemplate climbing your way out. To get as far away from the dogs as possible, you decide to go forwards – walking through the shallow water because you believe that it will help to disguise your scent should those animals return to hunt you down. This maths adventure comes in four parts. It could be completed over several lessons or given as homework over several weeks. The ideas is that the children have to solve a maths problem before the teacher will give them the next sheet. It is well written and engaging. THIS RESOURCE IS ALSO AVAILABLE AS A POWERPOINT. INCLUDES FREE BLANK BOOKLETS 4 AND 8 PAGE. THESE FULLY EDITABLE WORD DOCUMENTS MAKE PERFECT BOOKLETS WHEN DOUBLE SIDED OR STUCK TOGETHER. Visit www.davlae.co.uk for free teaching resources.

Sound of Music Activities for KS2 (+ FREE A REAL MYSTERIES PROJECT: THE MYSTERIOUS TIME TRAVELLER)

Sound of Music Activities for KS2 (+ FREE A REAL MYSTERIES PROJECT: THE MYSTERIOUS TIME TRAVELLER)

It might be over 50 years old, but this film truly has something for everyone. It is also very useful to look at what people are really thinking which can feed into their writing. This resource includes 32 activities / points for discussion (including 6 writing activities) for the first 1 hour and 45 minutes of the film. I would not suggest that you use all of them, but choose the ones you like the most. I would also suggest that after the Intermission the children should just watch the last hour or so of the film uninterrupted. I have not included any activities for the last part of the film. The times of relevant scenes are included throughout this resource so you can locate them easily. You could easily use this as a basis of your literacy for a week - perhaps more. INCLUDES FREE A REAL MYSTERIES PROJECT: THE MYSTERIOUS TIME TRAVELLER. THIS FIVE PAGE WRITING PROJECT IS BASED ON A REAL EVENT - ALTHOUGH THE CHILDREN DON'T FIND THIS OUT UNTIL THE END. Back to School: Meet the Teacher Letter for Year 5 and 6 (+ FREE READING PROJECT)

Back to School: Meet the Teacher Letter for Year 5 and 6 (+ FREE READING PROJECT)

This humorous letter is written from an anonymous person who claims to know you. The children are then given some advice about effort, attitude and behaviour in an attempt to help them have a fantastic year of learning. The whole letter is written as though you don't know about it. Extract Hello, Yes, that person standing right in front of you now is your new teacher. Huh, can you believe it? Now sit up straight and try to create a good impression (yes I know it’s difficult) and whatever you do – don’t stare. I know it’s tempting, but just don’t do it. Oh… and remember to smile – but not too much ‘cause that’s just scary! It makes you look like you’ve done something that you shouldn’t have. I would put these letters in envelopes and give them to the children when they first enter the class. The children could write a reply to the letter - either straight away or at the end of the academic year. ALSO INCLUDES FREE READING PROJECT. THIS 8 PAGE PROJECT ENCOURAGES THE CHILDREN TO FIND A GOOD BOOK IN A FUNNY AND ENGAGING WAY. THE CHILDREN HAVE TO SPEAK TO ADULTS ABOUT THE BOOKS THEY READ WHEN THEY WERE YOUNGER AND PREPARE A SPEECH/PRESENTATION ABOUT THE BOOK THEY FOUND. ADVICE IS GIVEN ALONG THE WAY. THIS PROJECT WOULD BE PERFECT TO GIVE TO YOUR NEW CLASS OVER THE SUMMER HOLIDAY. Visit www.davlae.co.uk for free teaching resources.
