This presentation includes different activities but no speaking tasks or practice. It is mainly emphasis on Listening, Reading and Writing. I would say there is loads in here for just one lesson (26 slides) The topics/ themes included here are: Free time / Technology / Family and Friends / Social Issues and Health / Holidays and a quick revision on tenses (past / present / future.) SLIDES 4, 5 & 10: Are not meant to be used (spare, extra, etc.) SLIDE 13: I could not keep the audio for the short listening exercise (as I took it from an Examboard webpage) but I can send you my own recording if you leave your email below and I will send the audio through. SLIDE 16: I normally read it myself as it it was a dictation. SLIDE 17 & 18: You have 2 different transcripts there depending on ability.

This lesson contains: 4 different stimulus cards as a starter for students to write down words / phrases. Matching up activity to provide students with good model answers to meet criteria during exam skills. Connect 4 activity for students to practice key phrases and prompt speaking. Main activity for students to prepare 3 key questions + have a look at what the unprepared questions in the exam could be like. Peer assessment activity using the mark scheme from the exam. Topics for the cards: Holidays, School, Free time, Sports, Family and Friends. Topic for the card to prepare: Family and friends + Holidays. Handouts and spare stimulus cards included. This document is a vocabulary mat that contains different key verbs in Spanish and expressions. Ideally it is designed for Y8/Y9 students but can be used also in GCSE as it includes: Key verbs in three different tenses (present / preterite / near future). Opinions and reasons. Verbs in infinitive with their respective translations into English. Sentences leaders and conjunctions to promote more complex and longer sentences.

This is a sample of a retrieval starter that I have used to do some recap on the basic grammar points with an emphasis on vocabulary and synonyms. It includes some practice of comparatives and definite and indefinite articles and extension activites to work on translation and writing skills. If you would like the key answers for this, let me know and I will edit the file.

This is a short lesson that can be used online or in the classroom (you can save it as a Google Slides file or any other software similar to Powerpoint. It contains: Short introduction to Spanish Geography where students can label the different CCAA (Comunidades Autónomas) which could be good as a starter. A vocabulary activity to work on cognates taken and adapted from the AQA A-Level book. A three section reading activity to work on cognates that could be exploited to do some translation into English so students can compare and see differences between Spanish and Catalan, Euskera or Galician. A listening activity with videos (a language that did not appear in previous activities has been introduced here: Aranese) where students can listen to (and see) different people talking different languages and they need to: Identify the language. Listening for the gist and write down some information about the speaker. Rate the difficulty of the language (personal) and find examples to explain this.

This is a quick revision on the topic of **school, rules, uniform **with some key verbs in the preterite / Preterite Indefinite (Simple past) and some conditional and near future verbs. This could be use with different groups based on volume of work, complexity, etc. (Y8 to Y11 - Use this the Y8 to Y11 range with discretion). Match up the Spanish with the English. Complete the missing gaps in the parallel translation. Students create their own sentences by adding more and more information based on what they did before. Notice that this could be different to what you have taught and this could be used as a starter, plenary of simply as an additional task. Answers provided.

This lesson could be use in KS3 or KS4 with your students and it is really well differentiated all the way throught. In included exams skills for photo-card practice and it included all the skills to be practiced in the lesson. This included: Presentation Handouts for most of the activities. Homework (vocabulary, reading and translations.) 2 videos that could be used for listening activities. Vocabulary sheet for students (+ answers.) Handout for students. P.S: I can’t share the listening files for some of the listening activities but the answers are still there (instead, I added two videos called ‘‘Los jóvenes en España.’’ and ‘‘Los jóvenes en América Latina.’’ Some of the homework activities ideas are taken and adapted from Miriam_84.
