Graphic Design: Artist Inspiration Project

A great project for introducing students to the content of GCSE Art & Design (Graphic Communication). The project is fully booklet based, and students produce work directly in the booklet, or digital and print it and glue into the appropriate titled page. There is a teacher led supporting PowerPoint included which shows more examples to help those who need additional support. Suitable for KS3 or KS4. The project is based around creating design work in the style of a designer of choice which also matches a chosen theme. Examples are given at the start of the booklet. There is also a PDF included which shows a range of other exam board approved designers which students can use as inspiration for their design work.

GCSE Product Design: Design Consideration for Product Launch

GCSE Product Design: Design Consideration for Product Launch. This PowerPoint contains a full lesson which explains Market Pull and Technology Push, as well as how products are developed and launched as a result of marketing and advertising. There is a re-design task where students can work in groups to re-design a child’s toy, paying close attention to the “design considerations” from the specification: The influence of fashion, trends, taste and/or style. The impact on society. The impact on usability. The impact on the environment.
