This scheme is aimed at Y8/9 pupils who have not taken part in Badminton previously in Y7 (therefore can be used at Y7 too). It follows a mastery approach that means that rather than having specific lesson by lesson plans it looks at overall key areas of development: Racket familiarisation and rallying, Serving Clears Drop shots The scheme gives warm ups, a wide variety of activities for each key area and opportunities for peer, self and teacher assessment. This allows teachers to differentiate lessons to fit the ability of each individual group.

This scheme can be used across Y7 up to KS4 dependent on group ability. It focuses on 6 key areas of field events: Long Jump Triple Jump High Jump Javelin Discus Shot Each key area has a section outlining a variety of activities that can be used to formulate lessons.
