This 8 lesson sequence was originally written as a series of remote lessons during lockdown in order to revise transactional writing. The activities are predominantly word documents that students could work their way through at their own pace; however, some have accompanying ppts as they were delivered virtually. The lessons focus on quality of argument (AO5), with the final two lessons set aside for planning and writing a response. These resources could easily be put into one independent learning/revision booklet.

These double sided prompt pages provide a series of study prompts to fully examine a text - context, genre, stylistic features etc. Useful for developing wider reading skills at GCSE and beyond but could be used for high-level readers in KS3.

AQA English Literature A Level - WW1 and its Aftermath. This lesson was designed to be early in the course in order to introduce students to unseen extracts, the analysis of texts about WW1 and the assessment objectives. Students will focus on one of four extracts - either individually or as a group. This can then be brought together into class discussion. The extracts are not included due to copyright, however the titles, authors and source are listed on the first slide so they can all be found online and downloaded for use.
