This is a lesson I made on the Middle Passage. I used this lesson with a high ability year 8 group as well as a low ability year 8 group.

This is a simple resource designed to be used with lower ability students. It can be coupled with a source or series of sources for comprehension/ history. The central poppy can be coloured in and be annotated with the symbolic meaning of each colour. This resource is very easy to adjust to be more or less challenging.

This was a lesson part of an introduction to secondary History for a year 7 group. The map activity worked well and was popular. This lesson could work with older students. I have attached a blank map that I used as a resource. This is not my map was found on this site. The map has not been factored into the cost of this lesson.

Simple and editable research sheet for nature vocabulary

An A3 sheet for students to mark down information about the key figures from the War of the Roses and the build up. Ranges from Richard II to Henry VII, includes Margaret of Anjou, Richard Neville, and Jasper Tudor.

This is a scheme of work covering History post-WW2. It includes an overview, lesson title, objectives, and suggested activities and resources. It contains 13 lessons.

This lesson was used for a year 7 group, but may be more appropriate for higher ages to teach the concept of significance in History. The dustbin activity works effectively like a balloon debate. The £10 note can be printed and students can put their nominations on the back of the note.

This lesson uses Aaron Wilkes’ ‘Renaissance, Revolution, and Reformation text book’, however, could be adjusted to use a different text book. This lesson was part of a SOW on the Tudors and the Tudor era. It was used with year 8. The timer on the powerpoint can be used when in presenting mode.

This lesson was used for a year 9 group during a unit on the Industrial Revolution. The sources activity worked well and the gruesome story at the start was a great hook. Students wrote their answers for each source in their books in this case.

This lesson was used with year 9 The sources could be simplified for younger students or it could be used with older students.

This lesson allows students to pick one or two activities to complete. The sources were printed and pinned up around the room, however, they could be cut down and given out to individuals. The lesson was used with an able year 9 group, but could easily be adapted to be used with younger or older students.

This is a worksheet for WW1 weapons. It could accompany a text book, source sheet, or follow some other teaching on WW1 weapons.
