This is a fun 1 on 1 or small group game to play with children gaining confidence in column addition (two digits, with carrying). This game is easily adaptable to a different question set. Rules: Choose 2 numbers from the list, and add them together using column addition. If the total matches one of the numbers in the grid, put a tick by that number. The first person to get any 5 is the winner.

A PowerPoint aimed at SEN biology: Animal Adaptations and Ecosystems. Explores three possible ways dinosaurs became extinct, and a lead review on the students conclusion. An alternative end for the lesson in a CORE classroom would be to create a poster/ write a paragraph on their decided method of extinction, or have them research more information on their decided method.

Made for very unmotivated set 4 year 8s to practise substituting into an expression. Print the second slide so students all have a copy, and keep your slide up on the board so once they’ve had a go you can talk through answers together. First slide is to demo how to solve the activity.
