I am an experienced music teacher who runs a successful business visiting early years and primary settings, teaching music. I have a wealth of quality music plans, suitable for non-music specialists, relating to various topics that are often covered in early years settings. Having previously worked as a EY primary teacher, I know how little time you all have, so have decided to share the plans that I have created over the years. I am also happy to create custom-made plans for schools...

'What the Ladybird Heard' music plan (Reception)

(0)
A 4 week music plan for a Reception class focusing on the Julia Donaldson picture book, 'What the Ladybird Heard'. It covers tempo (speed) and dynamics (volume). The plan includes resources, ideas for singing, percussion and movement and also includes suggestions for how to improve singing in your classroom generally. It is designed for non-music specialist or music teachers to teach. All music-specific language is explained. In order to teach this plan, you will need to purchase the Julia Donaldson song 'What the Ladybird Heard' (PDF of lyrics and video can be found on her website). There are suggestions for other songs, many of which are traditional and can be found for free. Some of them are SingUp specific, and can be found if the school subscribe to SingUp (but non of these are essential to the plan).
