These are based off the guidance for (Scottish) Active Literacy stages 4/5 and 6/7 and will be useful for children working within these stages of AL. These cards are great to provide children with prompts to assess their work before handing in. By asking children questions like “have you used the capital letters?”, “have you checked your spelling?” and “have you shown all of your working?” these cards ensure work is completed to a high standard before being tossed in the marking tray! I would suggest cutting out then laminating these cards, punching holes in them and linking them with a split ring to form a sort of fan which could be placed at each group or at easy access in the classroom for individual use.
