Animal Adaptations and Habitats KS2

(2)
One resource included pictures of 6 habitats and some animals that live there. A nice idea would be to hand out the habitat pictures and ask the children to match the animals with the habitat in which they live! The second resource lists 5 adaptations per animal and habitat which could be cut up and muddled on tables. Children would then need to find the five that match their animal or habitat to show how its adapted/adaptable.

M.A.D times tables grids

M.A.D stands for Maths A Day. I have created these grids after reading about the benefits of practising a few times tables every day for a week and every week for a month. This document contains four grids with a range of timestables starting with smaller numbers (2’s, 3’s, 4’s and 5’s) and extending to 12’s. The grids are colour coded to help you find which grids are relevant for your class. I have used these in a Year 4 class but would be suitable for all KS2. Could be extended into division facts, decimals and square numbers in UKS2.

An 11 slide powerpoint used each week to introduce children to a new country in the world. Slides include the country name, flag, location, capital city, where it is located on a map and a significant photograph or two. Used in LKS2 classroom but suitable across KS1 and KS2.

Roll an alien is a fun shape/art activity involving rolling a dice to determine what alien feature you will draw. Great fun for KS1 and KS2 children.
