GCSE Sociology introduction lesson AQA

A first lesson that I use in GCSE Sociology, can also be used for Alevel as well. The idea is that students are trapped on a desert island and they have to rebuild a society. This has been adapted for covid, but instead of sections you could split the 4 areas into 4 key roles: priminister, education minister, crime minister & legal minister and get students to be responsible for each part. Each section touches on some key areas from the sociology specification so gets students talking/ thinking sociologically. There is a reflection page at the end which again brings up some good key questions for students to consider. I found this useful when teaching about sociological theories.
