I have attached my whole lesson for the technique of Tie Dye. This technique can be done with both KS3 and KS4 students. I have attached the whole powerpoint that I use which has a Do Now activity, lesson objectives, contemporary examples of which designers have used Tie dye their collection. It then has a slide that has all of the equipment you will need listed and health and safety considerations. This powerpoint also has reflection questions and plenary questions at the end. I have also included a worksheet that students can complete after they have finished experimenting with the tie dye techique. On this worksheet there is a a box asking them to write down the equipment they used, the method of the technique and then to reflect on their learning. The reflection questions are on the main lesson powerpoint.

2D Design Tools

(1)
A worksheet that can be used as a Do Now activity testing the students on the names of the tools they use on this software. I have also included a powerpoint slide which goes over the answers - all have animations on them so they come up one by one. I go over the answers with the whole class and students can peer assess eachothers work. It is also a great way to recap and discuss the main tools they will need to be using in the lesson.

Research focusing on Natural fabrics. I have added the powerpoint and word doc versions so you can edit and amend as you wish. Both worksheets are adaptable to enable students to research all different types of materials and fabrics - you could change the focus on woven, knitted and bonded.

NCFE - Craft - Success Criteria - Unit 1, 2 and 4

(0)
I have broken down unit 1, 2 and 4 completely and created success criterias for each unit. Each success criteria corresponds to the assessment criteria set by NCFE and explains how to lay out the work, what needs to be incorporated, an example of what it should look like and even has sentence starters for differentiation. This resource i created helped me so much and it allowed students to work with more confidence and be able to move to and from each success criteria. I have also included a checklist for each of these units and more detailed differentiated questions that students will need to answer.

Textile Techniques - Beading Lesson

I have attached a starter activity where I am encouraging students to recognise different bead types. This worked with my KS4 as they were then able to order exactly what type of bead they wanted for their final project as from this they knew the name of the beads they wanted. I have attached two versions of this starter, one in A4 and one in A5 size. There is a word bank at the bottom of the worksheet with the answers which students need to match up. The lesson powerpoint corresponds to this as the Do Now has the correct answers on. This powerpoint also has a contemporary examples of beading and a smalll step by step description of how to do it. Resources you would need for this lesson thread needle fabric beads/sequins embroidery hoop
