Why did the barons force King John to sign the Magna Carta?

(0)
Resource for Year 7’s on the Magna Carta. Works well as a follow up lesson from King John (was he a good or a bad king?). Interactive ’ Chase’Game for students to get them engaged and understanding why the barons were angry. ( about 15/20 mins for this, depending on the group ability) Give students the opportunity to guess what they think John will do. Then go through their guesses and the correct answers of what John does that angers the barons. Helps them to see that the barons are ‘chasing’ John and everytime that John makes a mistake, the barons get more angry and get closer and closer to creating the Magna Carta.
