This ppt is designed to be a first lesson for BTEC students starting on the BTEC TECH award with a DANCE APPROACH. It features:
Dancer profile DO NOW task- this gives students a chance to give some information about themselves and reflections on their preferences- lovely as a way to allow teachers to build understanding of their class.
Space for Routines for practical and theory lessons which can be tweaked to fit your own.
A breakdown of the three components
An explanation of Assignment briefs
A look at the criteria and how this gives an overall grade.
An overview of how the final grade is calculated
A task for students to complete a 3 phase independant/partner warm up to be used in practical lessons and workshops.
This bundle is a set of resources for students in y8/9 this worked well when in classrooms during COVID and also when doing remote learning it includes
Lesson 1- Stylistic Features analysis- students learn how to analyse RADS of a professional piece of Dance using a structured writing frame.
Lesson 2- Dance skills- Students learn about physical and expressive skills and are asked to evaluate performance using correct terminology and writing structure. .
Lesson 3- Students learn about the types of stimuli that can be used to create a dance and write their ideas using a writing structure
Lesson 4- Students are given a brief and asked to write about their ideas for a themed piece from stimulus.
Lesson 5- Students complete an interactive quiz to check their knowledge.
all PPTs, a knowledge organiser and quiz papers are included.

This resource is lesson 1 in a 5 Soldiers SOW useful mainly for COMPONENT 1 on the BTEC TECH award but stands alone for any other curriculum years too.
Lesson 1 explores the first section of 5 soldiers and includes a creative task for students to complete as part of a workshop.
This resource is designed for online or remote learning. It covers key stylistic features of key scenes from Matthew Bourne’s Nutcracker. Features listing tasks, extended writing using PIE structure and a creative sweet themed tasks. Videos are embedded to play whilst students can see key information and also comes with a word document that can be sent to students either as a word document or set as an assignment for students to edit live along with the lesson.
This is a handy rehearsal pack i have given to students, it features some of the choreographic devices cards which give them ideas/starting points/techniques to create movement and explores motif development through ASDR, it also includes a rehearsal schedule, personal management checklist and meeting log for them to track their progress.
This is a lesson I intend to deliver to my y11 students ahead of their COMPONENT 3 IDEAS LOG controlled asssessment. The ppt uses tips/bulletpoints from BTEC to allow students to see what is required of them during their controlled assessment of the IDEAS LOG. The ppt includes another CREATION CANVAS ( i will print this A3) that students can use to plot out their notes for the task-this can also be broken down and used for the controlled assessment as their notes.
The ppt also has some checking exercises around making detailed points using PIE structure and Paddy MCGuiness themed highlighting peer assessment.
The resource also comes with a simple WORD template that students can use to practice structuring a response.
This is a student booklet for COMPONENT 3, It has a few dance related pages but could be adapted easily for drama to include technique pages etc. The rest is fully generic so can be used for either discipline this features the following pages:

This is a remote learning lesson for Swan Lake Reloaded. It includes a series of tasks where students need to identify, describe and evaluate stylistic features of the piece.
Video links are includeded in the ppt for students to watch and compare.
Currently using this for y8/9 students remotely but could be used in a classroom or also with BTEC students if they were studying this piece for Component 1.

This resource has been used most successfully with our current y8/9 students. It is a SOW at desks so classroom based but with fun activities for students to take part it with some movement at desks in some tasks.
The SOW explores the following
Lesson 1- Stylistic Features of professional repertoire.
Lesson 2- Dance skills
Lesson 3- Types of Stimuli
Lesson 4- Responding to a brief
Lesson 5- Interactive Quiz
Lessons can be split as there is a lot of content, lesson 3 and 4 inparticular you could spread across 2 lessons each making a longer SOW
The bundle also features a knowledge organiser that students can use for home learning and there is a DO NOW task students can complete in books at the start of each lesson.

This resource is a homework pack that i distributed to my learners over the half term. It gives them a brief and a written example , as well as some information on the physical skills to complete a physical skills audit. The work students produced was excellent and much more detailed as a result of this resource.
This resource features a planning sheet and an accompanying ppt to prepare students for the Component 3 Ideas Log exam.
The ppt talks students through a PIE structure to enhance the detail in student responses and features a fun peer assessment feature.
The planning sheet also includes a structured page for students to add their bulletpoints to in preparation for the exam.
This Rosas Danst Rosas bundle includes ppt resources and sheets needed for an engaging set of practical and theory based lessons. This has worked wonderfully for our KS4 BTEC students during the COVID restrictions and is perfect for social distancing. It could however be a really fantastic SOW for KS3.

The SOW also features an opportunity for students to look at the Beyonce Plagiarism scandal and create a piece mirroring Rosas to the Beyonce track which students have LOVED
This resource features an exam PPT launch that is used with y10/11 drama and dance students, it has a breakdown of the criteria, top tips for the exam, an introduction to the stimulus for 2020 as well as a few practical ideas for pieces that we feel would meet the criteria fully, the ppt justifies how the ideas would hit each element of the brief.
The ppt also comes with a breakdown of the combination of grades to achieve overall scores so students can see how their result for comp 3 could effect their overall grade.

This is an activity designed for students to work from home. I have set my y9 the challenge of completing 1 per week but you could challenge students to complete a line or full house.
