'Daring Dentists' Subtraction Sheet (Differentiated)
Get your children pulling teeth using this 'Daring Dentists' worksheet. Differentiated with subtraction number frames for use across ability ranges. Quick and easy subtraction for Reception and the lower end of Year 1.
Roll it, add it, subtract it! (A quick and easy maths activity with lots of possibilities!)
Can the children roll two dice and add and subtract each rolled number? A great little starter for an addition/subtraction lesson. As stated in the document, the activity can be easily differentiated through the use of dice with many faces (d20 dice are perfect for this!). Works well with Reception and Year 1 classes but easily adaptable for other age ranges.
'Heavier than/Lighter than and Equal to' Activity Sheet
A great little starter activity to open a measurements lesson with. Can the children find items from around the classroom (or outdoors) that are more than/less than and equal to a set weight. I've had the children measure bags of rice to a certain weight to compare with previously.
Lego Piece Fact-file
A blank Lego fact-file that can be used throughout addition/subtraction and multiplication sessions. Children select a Lego brick from pile, draw it out and then note the array of bumps through number sentences.
