I am trained in art and design and textiles tech. My resources will mainly focus upon fashion and textiles but over the next few months there'll be a peppering of RM as I work on another love of mine, furnishings. Keep coming back I'll be uploading more schemes of work in the not too distant future! Any feedback greatly appreciated.

A series of A3 revision sheets that dip and dive into the main sections of theory to help in your teaching of the new Design and Technology specification.
The sheets can also be given as a revision aid as part of a revision takeaway pack prior to mocks and summer exams.
This is the AQA Spec.
These resources are best to be printed out onto A3 paper.
The resource is to help you teach the Insect theme for Section A of the AQA GCSE Design and Technology: Textiles Technology exam paper.
There are also further A3 resource sheets included in this downloadable pack that cover other theory areas such as: Fabric Construction, Natural and Synthetic Fibres, Recycling and the Environment, Smart and Modern Textiles, Tools and Equipment, Laws Safety and Labels, Industry and ICT Practices.
There are plenty of drawing and designing activities to use in conjunction with either an introductory lesson on this years exam Section A and further theory lessons. Additionally, there are some questions relating to how the whole of the exam is set out.
It has been illustrated to allow for students to write over, highlight, draw and colour onto!
This resource is best printed onto A3 size.
This is a great resource to either introduce or revise over key designers, companies and design movements that are covered in the AQA GCSE Design and Technology spec.
It can provide a start to group discussion work, using the written facts, images and descriptions as prompts. Alternatively, you can use it as a card match memory exercise with the cards turned over.
I have included images of designers, logos and products with designer, company and design movement names for an easier option and to provide further challenge you could bring in the description cards.
This bundle is a mini make project that draws up basic designing skills, applique and quilting. There have been some fantastic outcomes when I’ve taught this over the past few years, I have used a girly unicorn theme and spiderman too since I’ve taught this successfully to both boys and girls.
Included in the bundle is:
5 min SOW
Lesson by lesson PPT - this includes homework slides, technique handouts for applique and quilting and also starter tasks of which I’ve made to be used on mini whiteboards. There is the eye mask template too.
Assessment booklet - allows for written teacher feedback, student self-reflection and assessment
Mid term lesson planning sheet
This is a complete scheme of work bundle that covers a whole term’s worth of work that dives into both woodwork, printing and textiles practical skills. This project is suitable to teach to year 9 and upwards as it requires basic understanding and skill in both timbers and textiles.
The project begins with design work, research into William Morris and existing products, identifies a live client, experiments with stencil and block printing techniques in order to create a multi-skilled product.
Students are encouraged to use both market research and designer theory to develop their print patterns.
This bundle includes:
5 minute scheme of work
extensive photographic step by steps for the making of the foldable basket and wooden frame
assessment and starter booklet - this is a really useful resource to document pupil progress, give written teacher feedback and self-assess and reflect on practical progress
mid term planning excel sheet
lesson ppt slides that also coincides with the mid term planning sheet
fabric pattern piece
homework handouts and template pages to accompany
