An independent learning project I designed for my year 7 class - they complete as homework through the course of the autumn term alongside in class set homework. I wanted to encourage independent learning, time management and creative thought. I only see them once a week so its hard to cover in class all I'd like! the results of this were fantastic and its now being rolled out across the dept. Pupils really went to town with making and creating, really 'thinking outside of the box' in terms of how to complete their three pieces of work. Completed projects handed in at Christmas.

A thinking skills and quite active lesson. designed for top set year 8. I had the classroom arranged and set up with table cloths, a loaf of bread and wine (the p point shows why!) The power point takes you step by step through what did. Pupils really responded to it as they were challenged by it - even the choristers I teach!

WJEC GCSE RS Believing and Living/Life issues Revision Quizzes - Christianity and Islam

A quiz for each of the following 4 topics - Relationships - Meaning - Our World - Is it Fair I use these as revision for year 11 - I split them into teams and we have a quiz league. There are a variety of 'rounds' in each quiz ranging from 'anagram rounds' to 'guess the mystery object' to 'bible bonanza' and 'sentence expansion'. Each quiz is easy to set up and enables me to see what they can and can't recall - this then provides a focus for accompanying taught revision lessons. You can ask 'bonus' questions when revealing answers. The quiz for 'Is it Fair' is a 'who wants to be a millionaire' format - you'll need to find and add the millionaire backdrop as I am unable to upload that due to copyright.
