This is a scheme of work I designed for year 8 students to look into musicals. Due to the nature of the scheme of work (provided) I can only provide the first lessons PowerPoint. I am simultaneously teaching two separate musicals, depending on the overall ability of the class, both of which are included in this purchase. Students really enjoy this unit and are able to fully immerse in the topic.
This is the powerpoint and worksheets I have used to teach my students about the Coronation Anthems and Oratorios of Handel. I also used this topic to teach them about the circle of fifths, modulations, structure, cadences, voices etc. There is therefore quite alot in addition to just the Handel stuff. There are listening examples either embedded or linked in the PowerPoint (in the star icons) and a listening test with answers for the end of the unit.

This powerpoint was used with year 9 students over a half term with the intent on teaching them to use sibelius simultaneously. It teaches three minimalist techniques, phase shifting, metamorphosis and augmentation/diminution, along with audio/visual examples.
