I think it's really important to get students talking. We do lots of choral repetition, especially with new or relatively new vocabulary. I love helping kids remember words and how to say them by relating them to things that sound naughty in English ;) I make sure to do listening, speaking, reading, and writing every day if possible. I also like to play games when they help reenforce vocabulary or grammar! I have taught middle and high school Spanish 1, 2, and 3.

This is a powerpoint of 145 Spanish 1 exit tickets that cover a variety of topics. Exit tickets are a great tool to quickly assess students' understanding of the day's lesson on their way out the door. These exit tickets could also be used as warm-ups (bell ringers, bell work, etc). There is a Table of Contents at the beginning with hyperlinks to the topics in the powerpoint to prevent too much scrolling. Slides are grouped and color-coded by topic to make them easy to find. Each slide has 4-6 questions on it in different formats.
Formats of exit tickets:

This is a 2-day project (for 50 minute classes) that requires Spanish 1 students to demonstrate their understanding of prepositions of location with house furniture objects and they are guaranteed to love it! Students use their knowledge of prepositions of location to write questions and answers about "Donde esta el gato?"
For example "Esta el gato delante de la puerta?" "No, el gato esta detras de la puerta." They then get to paste clipart to show their answer and the furniture items are designed to pop-out off the page.
This project comes with a rubric, rough draft for students, checklist for students, clipart, and a Teacher's Guide with instructions and suggestions to ensure student success. All documents are Word docs, so they can easily be modified for another language, level, or curriculum.
My students have a great time each year making their "Pop-up Books" and also master their prepositions of location vocabulary. This project could easily be modified for a higher level or another language.
