A lesson which I used with my KS4 class to further their understanding of the final scene of Romeo and Juliet. Pupils play the board game and answer the questions as they go. Questions are differentiated from easy select and retrieve to more difficult analysis questions. Worked very well and allowed my class to explore independently!

Two lessons which focus on answering an exam style question, on writing to argue,for the Eduqas Specification. Lesson includes: 1) Handy phrases to include in an argument 2) Mark Scheme 3) Two different examples responses - one higher level, one lower. The pupils mark both and discuss what mark they would give and why. Worked really well with my year 11 class but can also be used and adapted for year 10 if they are studying the spec.

Pupils are encouraged to read the extract a paragraph at a time and fill in the table, identifying quotations which prove Nick’s opinions and analyse them. This lesson is meant to be quick paced but you could definitely adapt to suit the needs of your class. A filled in table is also provided for the teacher.
